Where I come from, it's practically an axiom: Never Date Drummers.
They're wild, so the conventional wisdom goes, and reckless, always looking for trouble or a good time - usually both. What do you expect from someone whose instrument of choice is all violence and racket? So, sure, you'll have the time of your life for a while - but sure as puke at a freshman kegger, one day you'll wake up alone.
Well, now I can tell you from experience that it's all true. Syd, at least, had a really good excuse: he had to go save the universe.
That's the good news. The bad news is, it didn't quite work. So now the fabric of the universe seems to be rearranging itself, and it's up to me and my cousins - did I mention Syd is actually my uncle? Yeah, shocked the hell out of me, too - to figure out how to fix it. Not to worry, though - among us, we've got all sorts of skills. I, for one, used to front a rock band.
In other words: we are so screwed.
